Question Concave Cutter

Is there anything that can be used or done, if I don't have a concave cutter

BuddahInTheRain:

A lot of bonsai work can be accomplished with scissors, pruning shears, and a chopstick.

The concave cutters are gooc for thicker cuts and finishing cuts. It is a must to have one for more advanced work.

Buddha,

You can use bypass cutters to get as flush as possible, but I would echo Pootsie's statement above...concave cutters are indispensable for finish work. The cut it produces allow the bark to heal "flat" so you dont have an unsightly bulge where you pruned.

Right, the thing is there are several low branches on my Fukien Tea that I think should come off. Although I could be wrong.

I know this picture isnt the best quality but it's the best I could get with my camera phone.

Well hey, any idea's on what I should be doing. I've had bonsai trees for about a year now, but this is the first one I have that I am doing all the styling and pruning for.

And now I only answer phones, so if there is no calls, I have no work.
