Chinese Elm/grow light

I have a 125 watt grow light that I was planning on using for my young chinese elm. My question is, how far away should my light be from this tree, and how many hours per day should I keep the light on. I have a "bazillion" other questions, but I figure I should start with just a couple. Any help is much apreciated!

Are you unable to put your elm outside? Outside is always better than inside.

Search the forum for "grow light" and "growing light" to see what information you can find that has already been discussed. There have been some very good threads in the past about growing indoors. Humidity is also an issue indoors, so you need to look into that as well.

Search in particular for post by Carl Rosner and Jerry Meislik, both of whom have had a lot of success with indoor growing.

Thanks Joanie! I have already been cruising this forum and soaking up much information. We have alot of deer and squirels around here, I guess I should build a wire enclosure around this little guy then?
