Chamaecyparis lawsoniana help turn into a bonsai

Hi again
Well here is another of my possible bonsais.
It is a
Chamaecyparis lawsoniana , or better known as a
Port-Orford-cedar .

As you can see I have tried something but it doesn't look right , can you guys please steer me in the right direccion.

How can I make it look better.

This tree makes a nice little bonsai. I have had mine as a forest planting and also as a single tree bonsai. I don't have pictures to post at present but will take some and post them soon.

Thinning of the branches is important because the "interior" will die back and turn brown from lack of light.
But overall they are easy to care for. Mine are presently indoors being winter here in Michigan. I have them under two 40 watt flourescent bulbs within 2 inches.
I had left them outdoors until late October and they are tolerant of some frost but not a hard freeze.
