Re: Can i use miracle grow?

Rich, First you should know that Miracle Grow is a Company name. They have several different formula's of 'plant food', they even have a fish emolsion under there name. So the answer is better given if you know the NPK formula of this type of Miracle Grow. If the NPK is what you are looking for its fine.... just do not over feed the tree. This is from a novice who has been there done that!

Re: Can i use miracle grow?

It sounds like it is the All Purpose miracle gro. You can look over the Scott's website to see what they have.

Unfortunately the website seems to leave product specifications to the imagination.

Regards,

Matt

Re: Can i use miracle grow?

Fat Trunk: I have found that with miricle grow it is good to use it at half strength and only untile the tempratures reach about 90 degrees after that I use fish emultion and then in the fall I will use full bloom. Miricle grow is at best a chemical fertalizer and as such can burn when it gets hot so I switch to a much milder furtalizer in mid summer. Also when the tempratures excede 100 degrees plants will go dormant and not need to be fed. In the fall your tree is getting ready to go dormant for the winter and does not need nitrogen and so I use full bloom which has 0 nitrogen. Hope that this helps
