me experiences with boxwood, and bending the larger branches / trunks ( over 3/4") is that they tend to not stay bent. I've used numerous types of jacks, and they all didn't hold thier shape. I even kept one on a tree for almost 2 years, moving it every month or so, to not hurt the bark. It looked great, I took the jack off, and it stayed( or so I thought) about a week later, I noticed it had gone back to the curved shape that I was trying to straighten......
arrrugh!!!! so now I just let the little boxwoods go wild. BTW- I understand that this far south in FL they have a hard time, too hot and too humid through summer. They make it in the shadehouse, but still arent happy. might be time to sell a few forests in training! |M| |
