Boxwood Chop?
hi all,
I have recently bought a large boxwood, that has a nice thick trunk and some pretty cool nebari. THe problem is that all the branches are really thick and the foilage doesn't start to really high on the thick branches. I want to chop off the branches and let some new branches grow from the trunk so I have more control over them. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to go about this. Or if anyone has done this with a boxwood before? Any help would be greatly apreciated Thanks George |

Be careful with it. Boxwoods don't backbud well if cut below the foliage, and are unpredicatble at best in pushing new growth.
Hopefully Grampz will answer your question-he's worked with them alot. |

Thanks for the information. I'll hold back for a while and see what happens to the tree. If anyone else has any advice please let me know.
Thanks George |
