bonsai wire?

I am about to start training a couple of trees. Is the wire at bonsai suppliers the only wire I can use? Can I go to home depot or a hardware store and get a wire that will do the same?

Thanks

Ive found bonsai wire is the best for your trees than anything you get at a hardware store. Even though some might be a little more expensive but its worth it. Ive tried hardware stores their wire is just not strong enough. And they usually just have one standard size, so id advise specialists bonsai wire.

The only place(s) you will find a decent selection of wire sizes is at the specialty bonsai nurseries and/or bonsai shops.

Bonsai wire is of the things you shouldn't skimp on. Not worth it.

For the amount of wire we actually use, it is not worth worrying about trying to save a few bucks.

Go to a bonsai dealer and get a range of sizes to from 2 - 5 mm and you will be happy for 99% of the jobs.

Also this supports our dedicated Bonsai suppliers without whom we would all be stuffed.
