Barberry Q's
I found a great Barberry on blow-out at Lowe's. The trunk is great, not too many suckers. The species guide doesn't really say too much about the zones and hardiness. Are these outdoor only or could I raise it indoors under grow lights? I got my cold frame setup but am unsure how these do.

Every barberry we sell at the nursery I work at is hardy in zone 5. I am not sure about growing it inside but I doubt it would live. Personally I would put it in a cold frame.

Barberry
I have several that I took as cuttings several yrs ago. They remain out side of my greenhouse all winter in pots with just some mulch piled around them with some other trees. Protect it from direct wind like along a south wall were it will get some winter sun and protection from the wind, pile some mulch up around them and they will do fine.
