bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

There's Japan Bonsai in BC. http://www.japanbonsai.com/ They sell tools, soil, and trees (shimpaku, cypress, JBP). No trees under $80 this time of year, probably won't have more until next spring, but they have some nice trees from $100 up.

Opinion

Im near Calgary and would love to see a bonsai club formed for sure! As for tools it is dissapointing that there doesn't seem to be a place where you can go and shop for it. Guess online shopping is pretty much it eh? Oh well.

I guess I should mention that Im a complete bonsai noob! Right now I don't have any bonsai and am currently trying to study out what type of bonsai would be right for me. I'm thinking I would like to try a Malus (apple) type tree specially some of the crab apple trees that can grow around this area. I don't really want to go with a spruce, but its so much easier to find. I was also planning on taking my time and starting with a seedling. (Not a seed.. not quite THAT patient or knowledgable) Going to see if the tree nursery near me sells the seedlings for that kind of tree.

Mostly right now Im just reading books on the stuff.. too bad most of them focus on trees that dont grow in our area.. but what else is new with that? lol.

Anyways enough babble! VOTE FOR CALGARY BONSAI CLUB!!!
