Thanks Frou for the recipe. We brought scale home on an elm tree my son won at a bonsai show a couple of weeks ago. Fortuately we spotted it pretty quickly. I have only used soap and water plus scraping and picking. It is not completely gone yet (still finding little white males) so I will try adding the oil and alcohol to the mix. That should smother the buggers and desicate them effectively.
