The home that I have been renting for the past 6 years will clear escrow on June 27. We have bought this home and decided that the koi pond in the foyer of the entry was too small and not filtered. This required me to clean the pond every 60 days. This is a messy job, and not one that I looked forward to every other month.

I drained the pond and took out the fish. There were half a dozen gold fish in there as well as Grandpa. Grandpa was a orange, blackand white Kohaku that I started as a pup. He grew out quite nice and would feed from my hands. He was 15" long.

We will miss him. I donated him to a nursery that has a tri level koi pond 3 feet deep with a huge crashing water fall at the top of the hill. I'm sure he will be quite at home with the other koi.
