Hi Bonsaikoi,

This looks very interesting, and if I were in the area I would probably attend...but I gotta ask...serious question now... How do you photograph a fish? Is it an ariel view from above?

I have photographed fish that I have fished out of a lake or at the shore, but I wouldnt think you would want to handle and stress a ornamental fish like koi?

With any fish it is stressful. Koi are viewed from the top so you take it from the top in a tub. Not directly above but very close.. Here is an example... By the way the people who handle koi do it for a living and with 30+ inch fish they can produce power but the handlers seem to do with with Grace.. By the way I am the Photo guy for this show as well...

Beautiful fish Joe.

I have always admired koi. How hearty are they? I have dreamed of a Japanese garden with a koi pond but I was afraid they wouldnt be able to survive a New England Winter. Can they be kept in aquariums indoors during the winter?

Moe, koi like bonsai are only as hearty as its keepers knowledge. SO the more you know the better off you and the koi are. Koi does best in a pond. But they are colored carp. Your climates are harsh. So a greenhouse or temp pond in the garage will do. I would not reccommend keeping them in aquariums as its not really enough room. I know people have kept them in an aquarium but its really not the best enviroment.
