Al,

thank you for pointing out the collection, I just ordered volumes 6, 7 and 10. Volumes 1, 3 and 4 will follow next month.

From the extracts I saw here and on the author's website, those books look like an incredible value for the price.

Your welcome, You will find that given you can find the correct material the step by step photos will have you making awesome bonsai very easily. Once the basic pictures have been digested they can be applied to many like species and they will be like second nature.

Another thing that is very good about the books is that since they are so clearly illustrated it is very easy to learn what kind of material can make what. The process is shown on how to remove this to accentuate that. This is a key learning exercise that translates to any size material and shohin is really no different than its larger cousin.

So its like killing two trees with one book. (I just made that up)

Good reading, Al

I've been doing shohin bonsai for some time now and if I wouldn't use it or want it, I'm not going to offer it to others.

I do apologize for not having the site to the point it should be, but feel free to drop me a note (dsp@miniature-bonsai.com). I would also recommend visiting http://www.american-shohin.org - home of the recently created American Shohin Bonsai Association, a full-fledged 501c(3) non-profit dedicated to the education and enhancement of shohin bonsai in the US/Americas.

Kindest Regards to All and mea culpas to those who take offense to this somewhat commercial post.

Out of print but not out of stock Most major Japanese internet book shops have it available for immediate shipping, with the exception of the "Satsuki and Tsutsuji" volume which has a 3 weeks delay in some places.

Coffee

I have just finished reading, Morten Albeks book.
I have to admit some of what was passed on suprised me. The bit where it is said that Satsuki azaleas do not make good nebari!!!.
I found that not to be the case, at all in the trees I have seen here in Western Australia. Where we are considered the poor cousins of the art in Australia!!!.
Just an observation Pup
