Great Deals On Bonsai Books!

This thread is mostly for the Bonsai Beginners out there, like myself. I have read this message board for several months now, and along the way have picked up incredible advice about trees, styling, care, etc.

A few times the issue of Books for Beginners has been brought up. I consider myself a pretty good online shopper, I always try to find the best deals, and I thought I'd pass along some of the best deals on Bonsai books I have found.

First off, the John Naka books. Bonsai Clubs International sells these for the lowest prices I could find, prices and links below:

Bonsai Techniques I & II - $25 & $35 Respectively, Brand New

I have ordered both through Bonsai Clubs International ... shipping is always very fast, and customer service is good. They don't have an online shopping cart, but you can e-mail your order directly to them.

Sunset: Bonsai - $5.75 Brand New

This book had been recommended a few times on this message board, so I thought I'd give it a try. It retails for $14.95, but I was able to buy it Brand New for only $5.75 on half.com. I used a $5 Coupon for $5 off a $10 Purchase. They sell it Brand New for $10.75 - $5 Coupon = $5.75

If you would like a coupon, any half.com member can send you one (its for new users only I think). If you don't have a $5 Coupon, I can send you one if you're interested. Just e-mail me.

Hope this was helpful! I'm always on the look out for deals

Jason.

Jason, good advise, may I add this.

Although all the Sunset Book editions of Bonsai are worth obtaining, if you do not already own one try and get the 2003 edition. I have been told that this is a totally new edition, not a reprint and is much better.... so if you can get the 2003 it is in your best interest. Again, the older editions are fine just not as full of info.

Jay,

I think that the Edition I posted on Half.com is the newest, 2003 edition as you mentioned. They list it as "Nov 2002" ... but it wouldn't make sense to publish a version in Nov 2002 then another in Jan of 2003 ... I think half.com has mislabeled it.

In any case, the buyer I purchased it from "booksxpress" shipped it immediatly, and it got here in under a week. What an incredible bargain, and it looks like they have more listed too.

I love getting a good deal

Jason

Sounds like a great deal on a great book. I think that the latest edition is 128 pages with only a tree on the cover. The older versions had less pages and a person as well as a tree was on the cover...... not 100% here so anyone jump in and correct if I'm off.
