Bonsai book

I have been reading many books and most of them use Naka's book as reference, this book is like Bonsai Bible or Koran. Is a very expensive book.

How good is??
where could I find Bonsai Techniques from Naka cheap

Both of John's books are excellent. There are two volumes to the set. Number 2 is the best by far.
I , luckily, have two signed sets of the books. As my mother stressed, one for show and one for blow ..............
These books hold the center piece honors of all the bonsai books I own. As far as I am concerned they are the best of the best. Worth every penny you might pay for them.

bonsaimonk.com sells them too...

As for the books, they are VERY in depth and informative. They are NOT pretty books, and everything is in black/white. My biggest gripe about these books is not the presentation or content though, it is the scatter-shot approach used in writing the books. To clarify, they are in almost no logical order. To go back and try to find something in the books is difficult because the information is not organized like your normal bonsai book with chapters like soil, nebari, styles, species info, tools, etc... This is not to discourage you from getting the books though, the content is very in depth, and it is one of the best books you can buy...

G'day all...

Re: John Naka books...

From above..."...to find something in the books is difficult because the information is not organized like your normal bonsai book with chapters..."

With the extensive Table of Contents and Index...I have never had a problem finding whatever I might be searching for...

Started using both (I and II) in 1984.

They are less expensive on the BCI site or the ABS site. Helps support these organizations too if you think that is an added benefit.
