The book and DVD are both on Steve's website.

You can find links to both here:

Jaron: Steve's book was written 15 or so years ago and is very out of date (just my opinion though). The book does however provide an excellent compilation of the various dwarf and cork bark cultivars of black pine. The DVD came out in the last year or so. I haven't seen it yet and it could very well be better. You might still be able to get a copy of the book from Steve. His website is http://www.matsumomiji.com/

There is a new 170 page book coming out on JBP and JWP from Stone Lantern (publishers of Bonsai Today mag.) in the Fall. I believe it is currently scheduled for release in November. It was jointly prepared with Michael Persiano and I believe it will be loaded with good pine information. Here's a link to some information on this new book http://members.aol.com/iasnob/Pinebook.html.

All the best. Regards, Paul

..I have the feeling that the upcoming book from Michael Persiano is going to be The Book on pines. I can't wait to have it.

The disc for sale on ebay is by Steve Pilacek, who published print version of his own black pine book ten or so years ago.

Persiano's book will be a new addition to the subject field. It has not been published yet, at least according to the information from Stone Lantern I've seen.

Has anyone seen Steve's DVD? I understand its an 1hour long tour of JBPs and techniques.

Does anyone have a review to offer?

From Persiano's website it appears that the new Stone Lantern pine book is being further delayed until next year.
