I think you need to join to receive the magazine. I have never seen it in a bonsai store. Occasionally on ***ebay*** or club sales.
You can find the application on the BCI website http://www.bonsai-bci.com/meminfo1.html IMHO, you'd be much better off with a subscription to Bonsai Today or if you are more advanced, you might also look at International Bonsai Magazine, which tends to deal with specific species of trees. Regards, Matt

HI Matt, thanks for the info. I'm currently subscribe to Bonsai Europe and quite often get Bonsai Today (I use to subscribe to this as well) I thought I'd just check out BCI, I'll take a look at International bonsai Magazine as well.
Thanks Jonny. |

BCI is well worth joining. The magazine is pretty good and has improved over the last few years. It's well worth admission price. BCI membership also has a few perks by itself as far as book purchases and other stuff.

The ABS Journal isn't a bad magazine either. Sometimes it has some pretty good articles

Jonny,
I have seen the BCI mag in my (not so) local bonsai nursery, my advice is to browse a few if you can before you subscribe - wasn't my cup o tea ( same with abs). I currently subscribe to BT and Bonsai Europe and get the occasional species specific International Bonsai when needed. BTW rowan57 say Hi to John for me (Ian from Maryland) I'm an ex-Barnsley lad. |

hi everyone, thanks for the tips and links - I'm now undecided what to do about BCI magazine, there is british bonsai traders asociation meeting in oct. so I might hold off till then as I should be able to get a copy there.
Rowan, no need to do that, I'm pretty sure that John doesn't stock it I usually check when I'm there. I'll be going myself anyway next Wednseday (hopefully). I might even be there for a look round on Sunday if the girlfriend grants me permission (probably not), if I am i'll pop into the workshop to say hi so we can meet properly. Send me a PM and let me no how you get on - I'm sure you'll have a cracking day (is it a begineers course?). I also forgot to mention but there was a small display of bonsai at the Great Yorkshire Show this week, if you went? Jonny. |
