Hi Carl,
I use Aceana and really like it. It's affordable and has most of the features I was looking for. I've used the bonsai DB a free Access based program too. It's the best I found for free.
You can find links to both of these by following the link Matt has provided.
Best,
Kevin

A side note to a data base, I have found it useful to keep a daily dairy. I use Word for windows, and every morning I record outside temperatures, weather as well as temperatures and humidity, in my green house..

I make notes of special operations I might perform such as wiring a particular tree.

On the first page I have a box with tickle dates, to check the wiring in say, 30 days on a Ficus etc. Also, when to spray a tree again that was attacked by a pest. That way I can spray in three day intervals....

The fact that I can use the search (control F) to search for a certain tree in the dairy is a big help, For instance, when I fertilized the tree with a specific fertilizer, like 9 month Osmocote or a three month Dynamite..

I know I am a nut for details, but as one grows older, it helps to avoid those SENIOR moments!
