Pipecleaner Voting is Now Active!
This thread contains instructions for voting in the pipecleaner bonsai contest.
1) The VOTING GALLERY is here: 2) Voting is now active. Voting will end Sunday October 1, 2006 at midnight, Pacific Time. You are welcome to leave a comment specific to the entry when you post your ranking. Discussions are not acceptable, nor are comments about OTHER entries appropriate to be included. Keep your comments specific to the entry in question. Please see the note about NOMINATIONS below. 3) Your ranking will be used to determine the top 3 places, which will be eligible for top awards. In addition a special panel will determine the distribution of four special category specific awards, but you can help: 4) With your votes you can embed a NOMINATION for up to four entries for SPECIAL PRIZE CATEGORIES. You may make only four nominations in total, one nomination for each of the four special category listed below. You may nominate any specific entry only one time, for one category --- and you may not nominate your own entries, but you can vote on them. Nominations will be considered by the panel in their assignment of the category prizes. They're not the same as votes, however, so it will be completely up to the panel what they choose. To make a nomination include the following text in the remarks section of your vote. Keep your nomination brief. A sentence or two is fine. I am nominating this entry for (category) because (reason) AND CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE CATEGORY:
There is a special voting tool in your User CP that will enable you to find out which "trees" you haven't voted on. 6) Finally, Ian_Homer will be the Contest Coordinator for this activity. He's assembling a panel as described in the rules thread that will be responsible for awarding the special prizes, but you the members will be able to vote for the in the popular vote. You can post questions about the voting process in this thread. Regards, Matt

Hello All,
I just spent some time looking over the entries and might I say, I am pleasantly surprised not only by the number of entries, but certainly the very high standard that has been achieved by all the contestants. If you have not seen the gallery yet, by all means check via the link in your user cp or indeed the link in the "siggy" lines of most moderators. As of tonight, there is still one place available on the judging panel for the special category awards, so if any one else is willing to act as a judge, please send me a PM within the next 24 hours. Being on the panel does not exclude you from placing your own individual votes in the public ballot, so please feel free to cast your votes as usual. Please remember Voting will end Sunday October 1, 2006 at midnight, Pacific Time. I will advise the make-up of the panel by Thursday, so this will allow a few more days of judging before all the results are presented to Matt and a public announcement made. Best Regards, Ian. |

Hello All,
We have now established the panel who will consider the special category winners in the contest. From the U.S.A. we have irene_b, while from the U.K. we have Treebeard,(Chris Guise) and myself. I would like to thank Irene and Chris for offering their services and look forward to a tightly fought contest to discover who are deemed worthy winners of each section. Please remember, that the vote of the membership counts in the overal placement of 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If you are still to vote, or are part-way through.... please visit your "user cp" to find a quick link to the gallery of trees not yet awarded your points. Best Regards, Ian. |

There's another day left to get your votes in; don't forget the CHECK MY VOTES tool in your usercp can be a help to find your unvoted "trees."
Anytime anyone votes on an entry it falls to the bottom of the stack to help equalize the vote count. Regards, Matt
