Vote For The Favorite To Win The Stand
Below, I have posted the five winners in each of the classic bonsai styles. Now it is time for the forum to choose the winner. Matt suggested this, and I think it is a wise choice. I would have a hard time picking a winner from the fine entrys.
I have included a photo montage of the five winners in a row, and larger photos appear in the following post. The trees directly below are the original trees from which I removed the branches and foliage to make the separate trunks. They are there for your enjoyment. Please vote only once. For those that feel the overwhelming desire to stuff the ballot box, Matt has informed me that he has the capability to see who votes, and how many times. No hanging chads here!!Deadline for voting has been extended until Friday Nov 15, 2002 from the original Nov. 10, 2002 date. Congratulations to those that made the finals, and thanks to everyone that participated. This was fun to the max. I can hardly wait to try this again. I am already thinking of a new contest as we speak. Stay tuned!!

The Judging
bonsaial1 isn't at fault here in any way here with the judging. I have to accept the blame for any inconsistency between what was planned, what was unplanned, and the way the contest actually unfolded.
Al sent me an email the other day, and he wrote (to the best of my recollection), "It's tied up! I worried about this, what should we do? You (Matt) could pick the winner, or we could ask Andy Rutledge to make a ruling, or have a runoff, but I think people are losing interest in voting" None of those are his exact words, I don't have his email any longer, but the point is, Al didn't screw this thing up! Any fault is mine alone. I went back and saw that there was indeed a tie, with only two dozen votes placed, and I had hoped that bumping the deadline out a few more days, and emailing the 1000+ members to request that they actually place votes would resolve it - the 5 finalist round was supposed to be "the runoff" it just didn't work out that way. Many apologies Matt

vote For number 4
It was a tough choice but my vote is for # 4 it is a really handsome tree among other beautifull trees.
As none of the people I voted for got elected last tuesday maybe I will have better luck this time! Thank you for sharing these beautifull works of art. Sam P.S. I would really love to hear about some of the history of these trees |

#1 is my vote. Couldn't get this vote through any other way. In a rush..........got to go. They were all so good this is a purely subjective choice on my part.

Contest Ends!
The voting polls have been closed, and I would appreciate the help of a nonparticipant to certify the vote. You will need to accept the ballot result in a single PM (Personal Message) that I will send, and confirm the result.
This volunteer can be someone who voted, but not someone who actually entered the contest. Thanks to everyone who participated! Regards, Matt
