Finalist Tree No. 4 Informal Upright

Old Mister Crow, USA

Old Mister has done himself proud on this one. The detail in the foliage is awesome, as well as the shadows within the foliage. I especialy like the more pointed apex on this trunk. OMC has paid special attention to the twin trunks and given them a canopy all their own. The two come together to make one spectacular tree. Very nice stand treatment, and the whole effect is very harmonious. Is it azeala foliage?

Runner up, Treebeard. This was my no. 1 pick for a long time, till OMC entered at the last minute. Kind of shrewd. Nice treatment of the sibling trunks too!

Karl has shown this tree in bloom. I like the effect very much and I thought this would be the early shoe-in. The tree is done in the Walter Pall neo-classical style. Very nice foliage.

Jules, I commend you for trying the winter bare bones effect. I know this is tedious work to get all those branches in there. You have done a very nice job!

I agree with you on this one Al.

Stunning tree, OMC. I thought I had this one in the bag until you came along . As soon as I saw your virtual I knew I had seen the winner. Amazing shadowing, and excellent balance. I really like the empty space to the lower left. Well done.

Regards,

TB
