What is this tree?
Hey Guys, This was sold to me unpotted as a "Chinese Boxthorn" but I can't find it listed in any references. Any thoughts?

Re: What is this tree?
It's a little difficult to make out the leaf shape in the photo, here are some possibilities:
Severinia buxifolia (Chinese box orange)http://www.hortpix.com/pc3986.htm Berberis buxifolia 'Nana' http://www.eggert-baumschulen.de/bena.htm Regards, Matt

Jlk,
Did the seller give any other details? Can you give a close up of leaf and trunk? I love a good mystery!

OK, I'll try sending the image again - tough to get it small enough.

Re: What is this tree?
It appears to me to be a Natal Plum (Carissa sp.). The chinese boxthorn thing really throws me off though as carissa is a south african native. Does it have a flower like this? How about thorns?

Re: What is this tree?
Jlk,
Thanks for the mystery but I think we will have to wait for more evidence before a knowing for certain. Some new growth ,thorns or flowers could nail it down. Keep us updated, buddy!
