Question thuja confusion

just wondering. I keep reading that thuja are not good for bonsai. I don't really expect an answer though, you bonsai types are like union workers (different, for the lack of a more descriptive word, and probably on strike.) Any ways here it is.

that link is screwy, you gotta click on
Eastern Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) after you click on the original link. It seems to me that the flat foliage on thuja would be hard to get "3 dimensional".
bye again
ps although ya'll are union you are very helpful and informative. thats enough but-kissing.
bye

Hello mfp1028

I think that planting thuja seeds would not be a good way to approach growing a bonsai. But there are are some examples of collected thuja that can make very good trees. Some are a few hundred years old and have really interesting trunks. This makes dealing with their unruly foliage a little more palatable.

You can see a few venerable trees if you do a Yahoo! search on Thuja+bonsai:

Political commentary aside, very few questions here on bonsaiTALK go unanswered.

Matt
