Serissa won't bloom

I have a variegated serissa, have had it for 8 months now, and it hasn't bloomed. It hasn't even looked like it thought it might bloom.

I am careful about watering (not too much, not too little, don't let it sit in water) and fertilize it on a fairly regular schedule as recommended. It is a young plant (I believe at least three years?) but I can't get the thing to be happy.

I may have a photo of it later, if I can find my cable to connect my camera (doh!). I am pretty much a beginner, but have several trees and haven't killed anything for about 10 months now.

Re: Serissa won't bloom

Some plants don't readily flower after being repotted. They concentrate on growing new leaves and roots for awhile and then bloom like gangbusters later.

If you have been fertilizing with a NPK that has high nitrogen, you might try some 0-10-10 or something that will promote bloom a bit more than growing branches.

I think, though, it is probably a waiting game.

Re: Serissa won't bloom

Thanks a bunch. I'll keep a closer eye on it, and see if a change in fertilizer helps.

I did just repot it a few weeks ago. It seemed to get through it quite well, although it did drop some leaves.

Guess I'll just have to be patient. I'll keep myself busy watching my azalea.
