Seed success - but what now?

I have never taken bonsai growing too seriously yet I have managed to accumulate quite a collection over the years (about 15). *Last Christmas a friend gave me some seeds which by some miracle I manage to grow. *The seeds were labeled "Humming Bird Tree" (evergreen fast growing tropical tree with cascading red blossoms) and "Alpine Wattle"(evergreen fern like foliage with golden yellow flowers). *

Can anyone tell me something about these plants, please? *They are now about 9" high and in a cold greenhouse. *The only information I have is the description given on the packet (in brackets above). *Are they for indoor or outdoor rearing? *How should they be pruned? * *

I live in Eastern England. Any help would be gratefully received.

Wattles are in the genus "Acacia". Most I know of are either tropical or subtropical and can't take any hard freezes although with a name like Alpine Wattle it could be you have one that is more cold hardy.

I don't have a clue what the Humming Bird Tree is.

Re: Seed success - but what now?

Thanks Tony

I will leave it in the greenhouse and keep it frost free, and see how it survives the winter.

Best Whishes for christmas
