Just saying hello!

Hi to everyone here!

I have just recieved a Bonsai Tree (Port Jackson Fig) as a going away present from my girlfriend who has just left australia for a year. I have never been into bonsai but now I love it!

Nurturing it and watching it grow and taking care of it, it's addictive!

Anyway, I will be reading over this site to get hints and tips on keeping "Wallace" (as the gf named him) healthy and happy.

Saying hi to everyone.

hi Vec

nice to see another aussie, yes bonsai is errr a little addictive. Port jack fig make very nice bonsai and its a great tree to start with. My figs...port jackson included are all outdoors all year round (im in adelaide, south australia) and they get full sun all year except summer where they get morning sun and afternoon shade (under shadecloth) and they are happy as can be. figs do fine out doors, but never having grown one indoors - i cant really comment.

good luck with it

cheers

Jules

Hey thanks heaps jules for the kind words and comments!

I am thinking that I will do that also, find a nice spot for my fig outside and bring it in in the night time.

Go aussie, go go go!
