panda bonsai?
[glow=green,2,300]I few days ago I purchased a bonsai from a local nursery. The people there called it a "panda bonsai," and did not tell me any other specifics about the tree. I have been trying to research it online, and there doesn't seem to be any info about "panda bonsai." Is there anyone who could tell me a little more about this type of tree, if it really exists? I am a beginner to bonsai, and would like to know how I could train and care for it. If no one can help me figure out what type of tree I have, I will try to post a picture of it soon...[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]Thanks![/glow] [glow=pink,2,300]Lary[/glow] :![]() |

Ficus microcarpa 'Panda' ?
There is a variety of ficus called "Ficus panda" that I have located on the web, it appears it is a cultivar of F. microcarpa.
At any rate, if it looks like a fig tree (evergreen, glossy leaves that are roughly lance (spearhead shaped) that is probably what you have. F. panda is supposed to be a low light species so it should do well indoors. here is a ficus link: http://www.bonsaiweb.com/care/faq/ficus.html Regards, Matt
