Litchi chinensis
I have planted a lychee seed and it germinated only few days later.
Does anybody know how I should deal with it? All I know it's a tropical tree that likes full sun. Thanks, Ossi Hanhinen

Re: Litchi chinensis
Here is a good article in Adobe Acrobat Reader (PDF) format
Growing Lychee in Hawaii Step 1: Move to Hawaii ![]() This second link suggests it may be 10 years to reach fruiting from seed, the trees like an acid soil and are relatively tolerant of soil conditions and the best climates for growing lychee are subtropical rather than tropical - "a warm, wet spring and summer followed by a cool, dry fall and winter." http://www.tropical-seeds.com/tech_forum/fruits_anon/lychee.html
