Re: jack pine

Jack pine is very hardy and can tolerate a lot of cold. *I see you're in the Philippines, so that may not be a requirement . *Jack Pine is provided as a seed in some of these "bonsai kits"

You'll find Jack Pine as bonsai on these websites:

a Jack Pine link at Deja.com

here is a weekly diary
of a new bonsai grower illustrated with some photos of the germination process, covers a period of about 6 weeks.

General Info on Jack Pine

http://www.bonsai-bci.com/species/botanical_index.html says it was mentioned on rec.arts.bonsai as "Potentially Good Material" hmm.

Re: jack pine

Wah-hoo! I bought a kit about six months ago and it listed "Jack" pine. I thought it was just a typo for black pine, the sprouts look like a black pine to me, the newbie. I've looked everywhere I can for info on Jack Pine and have found nothing.

This is great - I'm going to go look at all these sites! *
