Eastern red bud
Has anyone had experience with creating a bonsai from Eastern Red Bud (cercis canadensis)? There is a gorgeous specimen available for me to collect. Any advice or references on collecting and maintaining would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Re: Eastern red bud
They're beautiful trees, but it is reportedly very difficult to reduce the leaf size and internode lengths. Still, they seem under-utilized as bonsai. I'd love to see a picture if you decide to go for it!
