cedrus libani--where to go

just got a cedar of lebanon(stenacoma)28" from
nebari to apex, perfect taper, great branch system,
this is screaming formal upright,
has anyone any experience with them? I have found
horticultural notes, bonsai root pruning ect. but I have
not seen examples or photos .any one got one?
the trunk and branches seem so flexible is it too young
for training? it looks like it could be potted, styled, displayed straight away.
my digicam is crap so i cannot post a pic, any advise wellcome.

Re: cedrus libani--where to go

Cedars are difficult to train because branches tend to relax to their original shape some months after the wire is removed.

For best results, you will need to leave the wire on a long time, so wire just a bit less tightly than you otherwise might. Copper wire is also the preferred because of its holding power. You might also make a couple of long cuts along the branch on the underside or back of the branch before wiring. That will help create some scar tissue that will help hold the branch in place.

I think there was some care info at BCI Species Index

Regards,
