Re: Can bald cypress stand middel east heat?
I don't know for certain, having never lived in that part of the world. However I might guess that if anything can stand that heat, bald cypress would be a candidate. Mine just adored 100 degree F summers in Georgia, and they are perfectly happy spending the hot months sitting in a tub of standing water. My only concern would be whether the air and winds would be too dry - in Georgia at least it was also very humid when it was that hot.

Re: Can bald cypress stand middel east heat?
Hi,
I live in very similar area, we have a lot of bald cypress and for sure, they tolerate the heat, on the other end they are very difficult growing as a bonsai. Shalom, Moshe.

Bals Cypress Heat
Howdy Mansour
I think the Bald is similiar to the swamp (but I could be wrong). The summers here are a constant 30deg C plus and all my Swamp Cypress love it. I stand them in a bucket of water (up to their trunks). In winter (average 20deg C) I take them outa the bucket and water them when they need it. I have found the Swamp Cypress an excellent Bonsai specimen. Cheers |
