American Sweetgum... Okay For Bonsai?
American Sweetgum (Liquiadambar styraciflua)...
Is it suitable for bonsai or is it wiser to hunt down 'orientalis'? If the American variety can be grown in soil, then dug up and potted, with a high probability of surviving well, I'll go grab some seeds from my neighbor who has an enormous Sweetgum in their yard. On the other hand, acquiring 'orientalis' will be significantly more challenging. Thanks in advance for the info... Josh |
