Exclamation Jap. Red maple cuttings... HELP!

Hi guys,

My mother has a nice 2-3 yr old Japanese Red maple in her back yard by her pond. It is only about 2' tall with the canopy about the same.

I have tried several times to propagate cuttings from this plant, and have failed twice. This is the most beautiful plant i have ever seen and I would really like to make some healthy cuttings that I may baby for a few years and hopefully have a magnificant tree one day.

Can ANYONE tell me exatcly, step by step, how I should take these cuttings, and where I should put them after they're in a pot. Do i put a bag around it to make a greenhouse? How much water? What soil (ive been using 100% pete for cuttings)

I think ive overwatered the ones I have now... they're starting to turn white and loose their color.

HELP ME HELP ME PLEASE!? lol... I absolutely LOVE the look of JRM's and they're all dying on me.
