heyCordon; Atomic jokes aside, my forsythia has oval shaped, opposing, medium green leaves that are serrated on the outer 80% of the margins (the serrations don't appear directly next to the petiole/stem but start a short distance away. The bark is light tan in color. If pruned back hard they put out rapid-growing water sprouts which don't set flower buds as readily as the normal growth branches. If the other plant is different it might be the one that is mislabeled. Maybe you should post a picture of the other plant.
