Did a search with meager results for my purpose. Which is......to find out what it is.

I assume it is chopping the trunk. (Quick, huh?)

But..... now that my first AIR LAYER is looking like it wants to thrive, I have the pore ole ...mother tree.... looking like a good candidate for kindling or mulch.

It has such a nice taper and twist that I am ashamed I had to air layer the top off from having REALLY messed up the lower branches.

So...now I have a living stick with some really messed up branches on it.

Thus my question. Can I just CHOP this thing down to where I think it might make a new branch or two? Just whack off the trunk?

Angle it? What time of year? Hormone?

Any advice appreciated.
