I would certainly agree with this line of thought on most message boards that I have been a part of, mainly due to the fact that most posts and threads get pruned or deleted on a regular basis...This forum however is not like that...This forum to my way of thinking is more like a growing book concerning bonsai...Sure it requires more time from the administrator to back-up, move, and generally maintain a site like this, but we have the luxury to go back and re-read threads and posts from many months, even years ago...It is also more costly to maintain such a large data base with all the threads and photos we have available here at BonsaiTalk, which is why there is a method set up by which we can make contributions to the expense...

It is quite obvious from many of the posts on the forum that others do not feel the same way I do about this, thus we have to wade through many posts that are; useless ["I like it", "I agree", "ditto", "nice"], hard to read due to spelling and grammatical mistakes, information that is wrong or not based on experience, and posts that are obviously only posted to increase ones post count...

I don't use the copy and paste into word on every post, but certainly a majority of them...There is also some small programs available FREE, that will check your spelling through your browser, if you care enough about what you are posting, to use them and find the copy/paste method too cumbersome or too time consuming...If what you have to say, and take the time to write is important enough to spend your time on, isn't it also important enough to give the readers your best?...Perhaps some think it is "cool" to ignore these errors...This seems to be the case on many message boards, but I really hope that is not the situation with those that do it here...I suspect it is more a situation of laziness, lack of respect for other members, or a 'who cares' attitude...

I know this post is not going to make a difference in the way many post or, their attitude on this forum...I do hope there are those that feel the same way I do about the importance of what we post here...We should remember that this post may be read by several hundred people over the next few years, and should be written with that in mind...

My apologies for such a long rant, but occasionally I think it is needed...

Regards
Behr
