When I submitted the picture of my tree I was quietly hoping for a top 5 finish. To get the top spot is just fantastic.
A big thumbs up to Matt for making these contests possible and for all who entered or contributed in any way.
For anyone who entered and put their money where their mouth is, YOU are just great!
I hope you had as much fun as I had. I know that some of the trees that were entered may never be masterpieces but everyone should be proud of their achievements and I am sure that we have all learned from the mistakes (you know, the ones you realise as soon as you have made them
) and from the informed comments given during the voting process.
For me it's a great way to practice bonsai and develop an eye for the opportunities and drawbacks of working with nursery stock.
