Wow! That's a nice piece of material (and nicely photographed as well). I'm impressed by the carving. If you can get the kind of development on this that Charles Bevan has gotten on his bougie, it'll be a real gem.

I like the final view. This provides the best of all worlds: a spreading pyramidal base, a clear view at the interesting carving, and the live wood along the right edge that seems the equivalent of showing a live vein along the front of a driftwood juniper.
