In my experience houseplants have a lot harder life than trees in open shade outdoors.
Light levels are much lower, it can be pretty hot, there is poor ventilation and extremely low humidity. The bugs can't get away even if they wanted to. The list goes on.
In any case, be vigilant for any sign of pests. You could spray your tree with an insecticidal soap or Neem oil if you encounter problems. Some people use Neem as a preventive, but you should test it on one area of the tree before dousing the whole thing to see how it reacts.
The most common causes of tree problems are improper watering and poor location. Pests and disease are actually a distant third.
Good luck,
Matt
