Here are some guidelines for twin trunk trees:

1. One of the trunks should be at least 30% taller than the other
2. The taller tree should be correspondingly thicker
3. The movement of the trunks should suggest that they complement one another.

Given the similarities between the two trunks you would have to really check the growth of one of the two to enable the other to get to the point it needs to be. Another option is to cut one of the trunks away. If you do that, you can leave some wood to carve into an interesting feature.
