I would suggest the following from a European styling point of view:
Things have moved on in bonsai.
No spaces between branches anymore in modern bonsai design. Only here and there, but not as a common rule. This has become beaten to death and is a feature of the state of the art of 30 years ago.
The same applies to the 'triangle'. Forget the triangle for old pines. They have a roundish sort of top.
Crown much smaller.
