Re: What in the world is this guy thinking
Jules, sorry to disagree, but that makes for interesting conversation. First, I do believe trees are shown with wire. It is not a fault but understood to be part of the ongoing process.
Second, just because you see a wire does not mean you will know when to remove it! If you keep alert you will see wire no matter what shade or color it is.
Third, I think it is very important to at least start off on the right foot. Do things the correct way and learn why it is correct. Growing with the knowledge you aquire.
Fourth, yes some individuals do use twine, coat hangers, rubberbands etc etc to aid in the training of the tree. We should not condemn them for it... just point out there is another method that is time tested and proven to work...one that is more pleasing to the eye.
Fifth, If we are going to accept colored wire.....why not paint the tree for better viewing? Why not keep all the Bar Branches and let the leaves grow larger rather than small? Why not hang two ropes and a little board as a swing?
We are trying to bring nature to a pot.... nature as natural looking as we can.... colored wire is just one of the things that should at least be shown as being incorrect so that the newcomers down the road at least know what is right.
OH BOY>>>>>> do I rant or what.....just my .02 cents
