Hey Spooky,
I do a lot of cascades and cascade stands are easy to find. Check out your local Asian furniture stores for Chinese type wood display stands, they are made in made in different heights...about eight inches to about 42 inches. Similiar to the ones in Amy Liang's bonsai book 'The Living Art Of Bonsai'.
Outside I use concrete pedestals found in many landscape nurseries or at manufacturers of concrete garden furniture. If you have an idea they may even make up something special.
