Winter...yes it does get fairly fierce. Actually our location makes most of our plants behave more like zone 4 or 5 than the normal 6. As an example most of the daffodils where I work (10 miles south) are almost done. Only a few of ours have even started to open.

We've had winters with 110+ inches of snow and some with less than 20. Typically the lake effect gets us more. 2 weeks ago we had 14-inches of snow and again where I work 10-miles away had less than 2. Fortunately for the trees they winter in my unheated garage so they are well protected.

Fortunately Summers more than make up for it.
