Its not as daunting a task as it seems, and if you start with an easy rooter like forsythia or perhaps Willow you'll get hooked!
None-bonsai,but I have in the past rooted a ficus elastica of my Mum's that got leggy, and I was surprised how easy it was! I got two plants there, tho the 'mother plant' branched and looked a bit odd with those large leaves!
