Going on group digs?

The Golden State Bonsai fall show looks like it is offering one or two digs..."100 years old grape vines" and "olive stumps". But I can't find any more information than that, at this point. I've never been to a Bonsai show yet, let alone one of these big conventions.

How much do these trips generally cost? Do you have to drive your own car? If you are not a big strong fellow, will someone help you with the heavy work? Do you bring your own tools? Will the tree last for the extra day or two that it takes to finish the convention and go home? Any pointers that might increase success, other than general collecting information?

Maybe there is a link somewhere with information, can someone please point to it?

Can hardly contain my excitement!

Joanie, whose dreams now include shovels and moss....
