I completely agree with you both . . . this is just a transitional pot for the next year or so. If it grows into it, then great, if not it will be put into a smaller pot. It is shallower than what it appears in the pics though. the angle of the photo makes it look much deeper. In reality its only about 2" . . . but still though, I agree that it either needs to grow a bit or be repotted.

This pot was the suggestion of retailer whom I purchased the tree from and over the past couple years, she has never given me bad advice so I went with it.
