Here are my thoughts, again posted before reading the other posts.
Strengths:
- Nice moss
- good nebari
- good bark
- nice gentle taper
- healthy bright foliage
- Good branch placement
- Good forms in the canopy
- Trunk has good movement
Weaknesses:
- Display slab
- pot
- too many foliage 'tufts'
- too many branches
- foliage not tight enough
This tree has great potential, but some conflicting elements need resolving before it can realise that potential.
The moss, nebari and bark all imply age, but the tufted and unevenly spread foliage and the jaunty pot imply youth. I think the foliage needs tightening into better defined pads within the already well defined outline. Some of the thin branches near the middle of the trunk need removing. The right hand foliage profile needs breaking up. Sounds like a lot of work but three or four hours of wiring and pruning would work wonders.
A shallow-ish bowl or saucer pot with outward curving sides would suit I think, this would enhance the femininity that the graceful trunk line has.

Chris.
