Thanks for this very informative thread Flybri, I've heard that the aussie natives are tempermental and don't like being interfered with but from my own experiences of digging them up they seem to do just fine, the ones I dug up were not really good bonsai material but good to practice digging techinques on, I've successfully dug banksia and gum species, now to find ones thats really decent.
